Meet My Feet for the Perfect Holiday Look

Everyone loves a good pair of trendy shoes for the holidays. And just like me, my daughter is quite picky when it comes to her shoe choices. She is quite big for her age of ten and so I often have a hard time finding that perfect shoe fit.

It's a good thing that  we came across Meet My Feet shoe store at the Festival Mall. It offers a wide line of school shoes, sandals, flat shoes and wedges that comes in big lady sizes as well. Moms and kids who share a shoe passion would certainly find many fabulous options suited to their tastes.
There are classic Mary Janes for young children in different colors and accents. These low-cut shoes has a strap across the instep usually fastened with a buckle or button. Meet My Feet has styles that cover from the demure schoolgirl, vintage chic to sophisticated teenies.  The styles vary from semi-formal or formal shoes.

The fashionable high-heel shoes to comfortable flats available in fun colors, shapes and designs. My daughter and I had a fun time going through the shoe selections!

I let her decide on which pair to pick.  Finally, she came up with these wedge booties in gold. I was surprised that Meet My Feet has this in her shoe size 39. I didn't know that some styles are available in adult sizes up to size 43.
Jac Style in Gold  for P 1899.75

This mid-heel footwear is ideal for lounging around or walking through the city. And I am happy that she chose a gold tone (my favorite color other than red) over the woodrose one.  She already amassed quite a number of pink pairs over time.

I like what she chose for herself.  The lace up fastening and thick ankle cuffs combine with soft cushions to provide all-day comfort. This wedge boots is one that will turn any outfit around!

I am actually partial to wedges. I prefer eye-catching wedges as an accent piece whenever I attend functions. I love the added height plus the way it makes my heavy ankles appear thinner. I also find them easier to walk in.

Wedges for chunky sole that helps cushion impact

My other picks were:

These gladiator sandals are eye-catching with its metallic tone and cut out design.  I like its front strap and loop.  Its rubber synthetic outsoles are they sturdy enough to provide protection and cushioning.

The delicate details on this shoe make it really feminine and pretty. It will surely makes anyone's feet happy!

Moms and kids alike will love the girls’ shoes from Meet My Feet just like we did! So go visit Meet My Feet soon to find shoes that fit from an incredible variety of footware selections in different sizes, styles and colors.

Signs of Pregnancy

Are you wondering if you are pregnant? Do you experience signs that makes you think you might be infanticipating?

The most common sign that you are pregnant is a missed period, but it is not always reliable if your periods are usually irregular. Stress can cause you to hinder the start of your menstrual cycle. According to PregnancyTips.org, there are also a lot of physical changes that will occur if you suspect that you’re pregnant. Some of the obvious symptoms of being pregnant are developing a craving for certain foods, morning sickness, experiencing burning sensation during urination.

Aside from physical change, pregnant women often have mood swings. Temper swings and irritability are brought on by the heightened hormonal production. Pregnancy hormones can make you feel tired, upset and emotional.

Every woman is made up differently. Pregnancy symptoms vary in each individual. Early signs of pregnancy are often like what happens right before and during menstruation that these are not often recognized.

All signs that you might be pregnant are still not 100% sure. It is important that you take a pregnancy test at home to confirm your pregnancy. The only way to tell if you are expecting for sure is taking a frog test. Also, it is best that you make an appointment with your doctor, and celebrate the exciting journey ahead!

Heightened Wellness with PhilCare360

An abundance of wealth and happiness starts with optimal health. Staying well is important because it is empowering. The saying "Health is Wealth" generally translates that part of being wealthy is staying healthy.

This PhilCare Wellness Box reminds me to slow down and take charge of my holistic health

When a person takes care of himself, his health improves and so is his ability to be productive in all phases of his life. The overall sense of wellness allows for a happier environment and decreases the need for the traditional healthcare system.

To get first dibs on the Filipinos’ sense of well-being, one of the pioneers in the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) industry in the Philippines, Philcare, recently conducted a wellness index covered the physical, nutritional, medical, lifestyle, psychological dimensions, vice, and sex. This ground-breaking study revealed that Filipinos generally feel good about their health. The bad news is that Filipinos’ have the tendency to be in denial and are only mindful about their well-being when sickness sets in.

And when they fall sick, most do not consult the physician. Instead, Filipinos consult a neighbor who readily spares some tablets left over from his previous illness to treat self-recognized symptoms. While nothing untoward happens on following such advice in most of the times, self-medication can be dangerous. Potential hazards include poisonings, adverse reactions and delays in proper treatment of the disease due to incorrect self-diagnosis.

The PhilCare Wellness Index also showed that 44 percent of 1,200 respondents from Metro Manila and key cities in Luzon,  Visayas and Mindanao  believed that they know what comprises a balance diet. In fact, 70 percent said they eat breakfast regularly, while about 60 percent eat fruits and vegetables daily. However, about 27 percent of them regularly eat fried or fatty food, 21 percent love eating sugar-rich foods and drinks, and 15 percent eat processed and junk food daily. They missed the fact that sugar and fat is as dangerous as alcohol and tobacco as warned by health experts. Overeating sweets increases one's risks for diabetes and heart disease. The sugary foods systematically destroys without symptoms until it is too late.

There seemed to be a lack of prevention against diseases. Most Filipinos are unaware of the importance of preventive health care and how inextricably linked it is to overall health. The study reflected that a majority of Filipinos maybe hurting their health in several ways by drinking alcohol regularly and taking in nicotine. About 58 percent said they drink alcoholic beverages. They consume about six bottles or glasses of alcohol per week. About 49 percent also smoke cigarettes and, on average, they consume 10 sticks daily.

While an overwhelming majority of Filipinos (more than 85 percent) enjoy a good work-life balance, 41.1 percent of them admit experiencing stress slightly. Many Filipinos resort to binge drinking after office work to handle stress according to the PhilCare Wellness Index. Binge drinking and continued alcohol use in large amounts takes a toll on the liver. It is associated with many health problems including liver disease and nerve damage.

Stress management has to be anchored on wellness. Bring your world to stand still for a moment each day to reduce stress levels. A highly stressful life can be alleviated by improving one's physical health and wellness. Stress should not be used as an excuse to damage the body.

This wellness index serves as the eye-opener on how Filipinos perceive what is healthy and how they are actually pursuing health.

PhilCare believes that while physical fitness and good nutrition are definitely pillars of wellness, they cannot complete the wellness picture without the emotional and mental aspects.

PhilCare has always been a proponent of preventive health care. The PhilCare360 Program recognizes that health is a dynamic process because it is always changing. Physical health is only one aspect of our overall health. Our level of health changes as our lifestyles change. As our lifestyle improves, our health also improves and we experience less disease and sickness.

For this reason, PhilCare provides for its members a total wellness program called the PhilCare360. The said program offers individual clients a passport to leading healthier and striving towards an optimal state of well-being. PhilCare360's total wellness intervention gives access to world-class healthcare as well as traditional and non-traditional health programs, fitness events, activities and discounts from health lifestyle partners. PhilCare members are informed on their health risks, what they need to work on, and what health programs would help them reduce their risks.

PhilCare360 may just be your best partner in taking care of your well-being. Call PhilCare now for a complete line of health coverage that’s best for you. Choosing the right health coverage for you (and your family as well) may be the most important decision you’ll ever make.
