Casa Noble tequila and Cointreau makes a Perfect Margarita

Margarita is ranked as the world’s third most popular cocktail and is considered to be the staple summer drink all over the globe. A perfect margarita should be refreshing and tasty without being overly sugary or strong. This classic cocktail is a happy marriage of ingredients at its best.

There are basic rules on making your margarita the best tasting one. It is all about using the best ingredients: the finest 100% blue agave tequila, the best orange liqueur, the freshest limes and the cleanest salts. This is why the world’s finest tequila and best orange liqueur companies have come together to give you: YOUR PERFECT MARGARITA

Casa Noble tequila and Cointreau are the two ingredients that most mixologists and bartenders prefer when making their signature margaritas. CasaNoble, produced since the 1700’s, is one of only three organic tequila manufactured worldwide. Over 3,000 acres of blue agave grown on the Casa Noble estate are harvested, cooked in stone ovens, fermented, then distilled three times. The tequila is then stored in silver oak barrels from 364 days and up to five years, to create an elegant tasting tequila. Next, Cointreau, categorized orange liqueur categorized as a triple sec, is best to use to produce the sweet light and tangy flavour in the cocktail. Uniquely, Cointreau is more than a liqueur with its orange fragrance revealing the true soul of a delicious margarita while marrying the taste of Parisian art de vivre!

At the grand launching of Your Perfect Margarita event last July 30, the drink's aficionados and media were given a taste of the classic margarita with Casa Noble tequila and Cointreau's version that provides a cleaner agave taste. Casa Noble really shines in the drink, offering flavors that no other tequila brand could muster. Todd English Food Hall was jampacked with guests. The event was hosted by Issa Litton.

ABOUT CASA NOBLE TEQUILA

The Casa Noble tradition starts from a historic 1700s hacienda surrounded by Blue Agava. The ways and customs of a country's population, regardless of its geographic location, have a strong relation to their food and drinks. A perfect example of all of this can be found in one word: Tequila. Tequila is one of Mexico's most significant contributions to the world. This beverage means so much to its culture and values – tradition, perfection, pureness, togetherness, sharing - these same elements were the building blocks in the late 1800s from which Casa Noble began its own quest to produce and offer tequila to the world.

Casa Noble's roots can be traced as far back as the mid-1700s, as a hacienda surrounded by a vast land where only one thing was to be found: Blue Agave (Tequiiana Weber), tequila's one and only source. This particular hacienda became one of the most developed facilities of the region; its lands holding close to 1 million agave plants. The whole region recorded a 6 million total. At the turn of the century, this hacienda had a daily production capacity of ten 66-liter barrels.

ABOUT COINTREAU

Cointreau is a brand of triple sec (an orange-flavoured liqueur) produced in Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou, France. It is drunk as an aperitif and digestif, and is a component of several well-known cocktails. It was originally called "Curaçao Blanco Triple Sec".

Cointreau was created 165 years ago in Angers, deep in the heart of the Loire Valley. Its iconic amber bottle presents the perfect balance between sweet and bitter oranges, a subtle taste uncovering incredible strength of character. Cointreau combined with fresh lemon or lime, is the base for Cointreau Fizz and a whole host of classic cocktails like the Margarita, the Cosmopolitan, the White Lady, or the Sidecar.

Cointreau Distillery was set up in 1849 by Adolphe Cointreau, a confectioner, and his brother Edouard-Jean Cointreau. Their first success was with the cherry liqueur guignolet, but they found success when they blended sweet and bitter orange peels and pure alcohol from sugar beets. The first bottles of Cointreau were sold in 1875. An estimated 13 million bottles are sold each year, in more than 150 countries.

The French-based Rémy Cointreau Group is the global leading manufacturer and distributor of ultra-premium spirits and champagnes which include Rémy Martin Cognac, Louis XIII by Rémy Martin, Cointreau Liqueurs, St Rémy Brandy, Metaxa Greek Brown Spirit, Mount Gay Rum, Passoa Liqueur, Bruichladdich Single Malt Whisky and The Botanist Gin.

Rémy Cointreau has a presence in more than 150 countries around the world today. Increasingly, Rémy Cointreau brands are regarded as worldwide benchmarks for premium wines and spirits by elite customers.

Savor the goodness of Australian Oranges

The Australian Embassy Manila in partnership with Citrus Australia and the Victorian Government had invited the media to an intimate gathering at Bondi & Bourke last July 30, 2015 for an afternoon of Australian oranges.

Anthony Weymouth (Senior Trade Commissioner of Australian Trade Commission), Bill Tweddell (Australia’s Ambassador to the Phillipines) and David Daniels (Market Access Manager of Citrus Australia Ltd.) were joined in by three well-known Australian personalities in the fields of sports, entertainment and beauty, who were invited to talk about their favorite dishes. TV celebrity Iya Villania, Chris Everingham of the Philippine Volcanoes, and Fely Irvine of Hi-5 Australia shared how they enjoy the health benefits of the fresh fruit everyday as well as their homegrown nutritious recipes.

Bondi and Bourke’s Chef Wade Watson transformed these gastronomic fares into quality, safe and sweet goodness using Australian oranges.

Chris Everingham’s favorite orange dish is Arugula and Chicken Salad. This awfully simple salad has cherry tomatoes, red onion slivers, diced Lebanese cucumber, oranges, basil leaves and onion chives. It was wonderful how the Australian Oranges ties it all together. There is something about arugula and the tangy orange taste that gives it a savory flavor! This superfast, easy main-dish salad recipe let's you eat healthy in 20 minutes or less!

Iya Villania's Orange Beef Stir-Fry favorite is an Asian-style classic dish combination with orange pieces. Chef Wade Watson prepared it using thinly-sliced rib-eye, peeled asparagus tips, French beans, cherry tomatoes, shallots, garlic, coriander leafs, orange segments, minced ginger plus sliced red chilis. Adding that orange zest along with the orange juice really punches up the flavor!

Freshly-squeezed orange juice is considered one of the healthiest beverages because of the top nutritional worth it gives. By consuming fresh orange juice, the nutrients quickly get absorbed in the bloodstream without requiring digestion.

Eating the fresh fruit also gives you enough dietary fibre to regulate bowel movements and improve cholesterol levels. Oranges are a good source of carbohydrates and vitamin B for that extra energy boost. Oranges gives you almost twice the recommended daily Vitamin C intake. Whether you prefer to peel or slice orange segments, you help your body boost its immune system to protect against cancer and heart diseases. And Australian oranges provide exceptional tasting oranges from winter through to summer. You may choose from a wide variety of navels, valencias and mandarins.

Boost your immune system with all of the recommended vitamin C in take in just one Australian orange! Australian Oranges are the perfect low-fat sweet treat to squeeze all those healthy nutrients into your diet.

Australian Oranges are available in the leading supermarkets nationwide.

Keeping Your Body Fit and Fab

Press Release

Remember the discipline you needed just to go to the gym or jog at the park day-in and day-out? You recall missing those midnight snacks, forgoing dates, and turning down party invites just to ensure your routine is not ruined. With a bittersweet smile (and perhaps a teardrop running down from your eye), you reassure yourself that it’s all worth it. You’ve had your escape to paradise, your fill of Vitamin Sea, and now the challenge is to maintain that fantastic figure. Summer is over, but that’s no reason to lose your fit and fab body!

Looking good or having the right figure should not be your only concern. Think healthy living. To effectively maintain that figure for a longer time (if not a lifetime) and to feel good from the inside as well, consider how you keep yourself hydrated.

You have been told to drink at least eight (8) glasses of water a day for as long as you can remember. As our bodies cope with different activities that have different levels of intensity, the need to keep hydrated is not simply satisfied by eight glasses. Most of the time, we need more, especially during summer when we sweat more often than usual. When we sweat, water helps rehydrate the body's fluid loss.

Keeping count of the glasses you’ve been drinking each day may seem too much though especially while in the middle of our summer escapades. However, the risk of dehydration is real. Sometimes, the common dizziness that people feel while playing under the sun’s heat is usually caused by dehydration. Headaches caused by dehydration could even lead to fainting or a ruined natural ‘digestive routine’, which is crucial for diets and maintaining that figure.

The main tip is to make it a habit to drink the right amount of water your body needs. We know that you can relate to how difficult it is to form habits, so we wrapped up three simple life hacks that can help keep your body beach-worthy!

1. Always keep a bottle of water with you.

The easier it is for you to do something, the easier it is to make it a habit. Writers on self-help, success, and discipline say making a task 20 seconds faster will make you more motivated to do the activity.

Recall how you got yourself to jog everyday. Did you put your shoes beside your bed so that when you wake up, you can easily suit up? Think of it as having that Facebook icon in your smartphone’s homepage. Doesn’t that give you easier access? Definitely!

Plus, looking for a convenience store to purchase a bottle every time you are thirsty is expensive and a hassle. It will also just contribute to plastic bottle waste. Wherever you go, always bring your handy bottle with you. And don’t forget to fill it with water before you leave home!

2. If water bores you, add flavor!

Oftentimes, we don’t give our best to create habits because we feel that the task at hand is too much of a bother. Spice it up by trying out something new. Toss in some cucumber slices or lemon with your everyday fix of water. This is an easy way to make drinking water fun and much healthier. While an ordinary workout may not require electrolyte-replenishing, the dose of electrolytes from fruits makes a great option for refueling during an intense workout.

3. When you feel and believe you are hungry, drink water first.

Many of us seem to be hungry almost all the time and it is normal to feel it at an average of four hours after every meal. As Filipinos, we get hungry more often, especially with our merienda culture. The next time you feel hungry, tie up drinking water with that feeling. The next thing you’ll know, reaching for that bottle of water and drinking it all will be as effortless as breathing!

Moreover, thirst is often confused with hunger. True hunger will not be satisfied by drinking water. So, if it is just thirst, you save yourself from those unnecessary calories. Those who are on a diet will surely love this!

Go for a stylish, easy to hold, and durable water bottle such as Tupperware’s Eco Bottle. It comes in different sizes -- from 1 liter that is equivalent to 4 glasses, down to 310 mL that can fit perfectly in your purse.
