Fire Up the Grill at Bar-B-Skew

We were invited to try out the Philippines’ first BBQ skewer buffet restaurant last week and were amazed that grilling can be so much fun, indoors and outdoors!
The place is spic and span!  Enough to accommodate several hungry broods craving for barbeque
There is a wide selection of food on skewers for you to choose from.  There are marshmallows, hotdogs, corncobs, fish fillets, pork and chicken meat, gizzards, pork liver, isaw (pork and chicken intestines) etc.

At Bar-B-Skew you will enjoy cooking your own skewers right at your table with its unique automatic grilling system that evenly cooks your choice of street food! Their stainless steel barbeque equipment has a motor-driven spit that turns skewers over so that it cooks evenly on all sides.
Choose from Sweet & Spicy, Hot Pepper, Garlic Butter, Sweet Chili, Soy Sesame, and Pinoy Sweet Sauce to brush up on your barbeque sticks

Bar-B-Skew Lunch Buffet opens at 11 AM and for just paying 299 pesos per head, you will get a 90-minute unlimited barbeque experience. Time starts as soon as heated charcoals hit the automatic grilling station assign to you. As such, it is best to have your choice of skewers on a plate nearby with your pick of sauces to baste it.

Opting for the Lunch or Dinner Buffet also gives you unlimited access to fried rice, kangkong, sisig, coleslaw and fried chicken on top of the delicious skewers at counter.

My daughter loves chicken gizzard and isaw with the garlic-butter sauce!

The kids enjoy their barbeque sticks while having a great view of the Timog-Morato cirle

Filipino Representatives Off to the AXE Apollo Space Academy

After a competitive eight-month selection process, the three-man Philippine delegation to the international AXE Apollo Global Space Camp in the U.S. this coming December has finally been announced by the Number One fragrance brand in the world.
Daniel Angelo Roque, Evan Rey Datuin and Ramil Santos will undergo training missions designed to simulate space flight and real astronaut training at the AXE’s space camp in Orlando, Florida. They will compete among each other to be the best Filipino representative destined to become the First Filipino Astronaut ever. The title of ‘first Filipino in space’ will go to the best candidate, someone all Filipinos can look up – figuratively and literally,” said AXE Philippines Brand Manager, Gem Laforteza.
The Everyman: Evan

Evan Rey Datuin has proven that he can rise above any challenge and do the extraordinary. This 24-year old Caviteño with a Tourism Degree from De La Salle University Dasmariñas, bested over 4,000 AXE Apollo National Challenges shortlisted candidates in tests designed to evaluate not only physical prowess but also intellect and determination. He previously emerged as one of two finalists from over 28,000 applicants who went through the regular selection process.
The Destined Dreamer: Ramil
Originally, a Filipino civilian and his alternate was supposedly intended to form part of a global contingent of 22 astronauts from 60 countries to undergo challenges at the AXE Global Space Camp in Orlando, Florida. “When news that the Philippines was leading in the number of applications in Asia, we were given a third slot to space camp. We decided to do something totally unconventional with it. The AXE Apollo Hyperdrive Promo was meant to select what we called a ‘destiny pick’ – someone not chosen by us or the public, but purely chosen by fate,” says Laforteza.

The 3rd candidate to be picked via an electronic raffle promo dubbed AXE Hyperdrive Promo was Ramil Santos, a 29-year old engineerwith a Masters Degree in Electronics and Information Engineering from South Korea.

After coming up short at the AXE Apollo National Challenges, he was destined by fate to be the “wildcard” candidate for space camp. He kept holding on to the dream of winning the last seat to Space Camp through AXE Apollo Hyperdrive Promo.

The Athlete:  Chino

Daniel Angelo Roque is a Psychology graduate from De La Salle University Manila where he played in the football team. His entry into the final delegation was rather unconventional. He replaced Air Force Lieutenant Mario Mendoza, Jr. (one of two original finalists from the AXE Apollo National Challenges), who voluntarily withdrew from the competition to serve his military duties as a pilot-in-training in the Philippine Air Force.

Though the youngest among the three delegates at 22 years old, Chino displays physical prowess, but also willpower, discipline, and a strong drive to constantly better himself.

Halloween Party at Fun Ranch Alabang

I was ecstatic when I had a chance to be one of the three invited to judge FunRanch Alabang's Boo-Time Halloween Party last October 26th.
Registration started at 4PM.   The loot bags containing candies, Magnolia Pancakes, Jack N’ Jill Chooey, Jack N’ Jill Cloud9, Jack N’ Jill Nips, Jack N’ Jill Dewberry, Jack N’ Jill Wiggles, Jack N’ Jill Magic, Jack N’ Jill Knots, Refresh Big Sip and Cloud 9 Chocolate Drinks were handed over to excited little ones.

Seeing kids all prepped up for Halloween triggers the young once in me. Parents can be so meticulous in selecting Halloween party get-up for their toddlers and preschool children!

Halloween was not celebrated during the time I was growing up.  Not once did I have a chance to go to one as a child even into adulthood.  Now, children and adults take time in looking for unique, spooktacular costumes to wear to this fun time of the year.   I actually had my share of fun finding a costume for my daughter's first Halloween Party and the rest is history.
Cherifer Mascot wows the crowd with his groovy dance moves
Costume contest was divided into three categories.  These were The Cutest Costume , The Scariest Costume and The Best Costume of all.
Children came in as fairies, beauty queens, marvel heroes, royal elves and some in really freeky, out-of-this-world garbs!

The Girl Pirate won the the Best Costume.  Her prize was awarded by Atty. Michelle Yu, my co-judge at the Halloween Party
The party was highly organized with parents and children being ushered to snack area after registration.  My daughter and I had fun eating cotton candy and popcorn while waiting for the costume parade to commence at the second floor party area.  The games, magic trick show and the costume contest followed suit at around 5:20PM.

This was the best, hassle-free Halloween Trick-or-Treat Party I've attended so far. The Boo-Time ticket was inclusive of chicken-spaghetti snacks, DQ lollipop ice cream, food cart treats, one Ride-All-You-Can Unlimited Play plus Loot bag.

Thanks to Ms. Anna Del Rosario of FunRanch Marketing Department.
