My Sbarro Dilemna

Sbarro is the probably largest mall-based Italian restaurant chain in the world with over 1,000 locations in more than 30 countries.

I am fond of pizza and so I got myself a stuffed pepperoni and sausage pizza. Even though it was warmed up when it was served, it still lacked the warmt of a hot food I was looking for.
Its dough is about an inch thick and not crispy. The slice was substantial and full of meat (like I want it) though.

These penne noodles I love! The tomatoes really sealed the deal!

The spaghetti did not taste done. I find their pasta to be too light, not enough cheese on top. I don't want the thing to be soggy and dripping but without sufficient sauce, there is not much flavor.

The servings are huge but it is the only thing worth getting here. Food looked great, but it was a let down. It had a nice layer of meat on top, but not still not sufficient.  Shortcuts are not always good.  I learned it the hard way.

Join in Solane’s Next Big Food Entrepreneur Challenge

In its quest to lend support to those who dream big and hope to contribute to the country through their enterprising capabilities, Entrepreneur Magazine announces the extension of Solane’s Next Big Food Entrepreneur Challenge. Running on its second year, the contest is in partnership with Solane LPG and Mercato Centrale Philippines.

Last year’s winners were husband-and-wife team Ping and Jewel Joven of Ping Gu Mushroom Fries and JR Inciong of Mocktail Madness for the student’s category. They bested other entrants who aspired to be the first Next Big Food Entrepreneur.

The contest is open to all amateur and professional food entrepreneurs, 18 years old and above, who are residing in the Philippines. It is also open to teams composed of three (3) persons who are eligible to join.

Contestants undergo three steps: the Food Taste Test; Food Selling; and Submission of Business Plans. The individual or team that garner the highest-scored business plan shall win a cash prize worth P100,000 tax free, a six (6) month rent-free stall in Mercato or Soderno, and a feature in Entrepreneur and Yummy Magazines.

Interested parties may submit their entries until July 25, 2013 by sending their name, short description of dish concept, email address, mobile number, landline (optional), and desired time in a brown envelope labeled Solane’s Next Big Food Entrepreneur.

I pre-registered for the Nestlé Choose Wellness Expo 2013 held at the Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall on July 13-14, 2013 and was glad that I did!

Everyone was given a free Nutrition Consultation after having BMI computed.
Both the young and old lined up excitedly at the Nesle Ice Cream booth

Family and friends flocked to the Megatrade Hall to join in fun Games, win freebies and get the umbrella souvenir!

Thank you, Nestle for a fun-filled family day!
