The new Bosch Series 8, which was granted the 2015 German Design Award, features 21 new technologies that makes dinner hosting such a breeze. The ovens come with a steam injection function and microwave. The ovens come with steamers. Microwaving, steaming, roasting and baking are now achievable in one oven.

The PerfectRoast meat probe also makes cooking meat, poultry and fish perfectly extremely simple. The variant developed by Bosch avoids measurement errors, as it not only monitors the core temperature at one single point, but rather at three different points. Bosch Assist helps in selecting the right program for baking as well as roasting. An added bonus for the Series 8 ovens: the new 4D hot air system. Here, the hot air is distributed evenly throughout the oven using a new kind of fan wheel that rotates in both directions alternately. This makes it possible for the user to place his or her dishes on any of the shelf positions from 1 to 4 and still always achieve a perfect cooking result.

Steam-baking and Microwaving

All-new Bosch Series 8 Ovens has a steam injection function and microwave, as well as integrated steamers. Bosch's German ingenuity integrates 4D hot air technology with a new steam injection function. Meat dishes roasted with hot air and steam become crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside.

The Bosch Series 8 Ovens can also be used to steam vegetables and fish in the traditional way. Using the steamer function, an entire menu can be cooked at once on up to three shelves. Fish, potatoes, vegetables or desserts – the most varied and different foods can be cooked simultaneously and precisely to the minute. The food retains its natural vitamins and aromas in the gentle steam, and the humidity of the air prevents the individual tastes from mixing. The integrated microwave feature can also reduce cooking time of dishes by up to 50 percent.

The Perfect Bake

Imagine perfectly-risen sponge cakes, muffins, cupcakes, and breads. Series 8 ovens guarantee perfect baking, thanks to their multitude of innovative tools. With the fuss-free Perfect Bake sensor, moisture levels are regulated in the oven cavity for an even bake. The PerfectBake sensor permanently measures the moisture level of the baked items and automatically adjusts the baking process.

If the dish has finished baking, the oven switches itself off independently. All dishes, from cakes to bread and quiches, are cooked absolutely perfectly. Simply select the desired dish and press "Start". The Series 8 oven takes care of the rest by itself with the help of the PerfectBake sensor. Cakes which are undercooked, too dry or even burnt are thereby banished to the past. Upon selecting the desired bake-type, the oven automatically sets the ideal heating mode, temperature, and duration. Under baked or burnt cakes will now be a thing of the past.

The Perfect Roast

The perfect results during roasting comes easy using the most modern sensor technology and a new kind of hot air system. And with the automatic AutoPilot program, the microwave becomes even easier to control perfectly: You just need to insert the food, enter its weight and select the appropriate program in the menu. With five microwave power settings and three power settings for its grill function, the microwave appliance guarantees perfect results every time.

The PerfectRoast meat probe measures the core temperature through 3 sensor measuring points with precision for perfect roasting results giving you an ideal roast. by giving you an exact sense of the doneness of a roast at three different points, it takes the guesswork out of cooking the perfect roast lamb, chicken, fish, turkey, and pork with crispy crackling for family meals and special occasions. The PerfectRoast meat probe also works with microwave and steam functions.

Bosch Series 8 built-in appliances combine trusted Bosch quality with maximum performance and the highest levels of operating convenience. Prevent Type 2 Diabetes Complications through Early Intensive Treatment

Press Release

Diabetes can strike anyone. It is a life-long disease that a condition in which the quantity of glucose in the blood becomes too elevated (hyperglycemia). This is caused by the insufficient insulin produced by the body or that condition in which the body has cells that do not respond properly to the insulin the pancreas produces.

Living with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) can be tough. Starting on a blood glucose-lowering medicine immediately upon diagnosis of type 2 diabetes now becomes the new standard of care. More and more doctors are recommending the early treatment and management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in order to avoid the risk of potentially life-threatening complications.

Dr Rima Tan says that there is often delay in #T2DM treatment upon diagnosis. Patients should strive for early tight control to shun away complications. One should adhere to a clear plan for achieving the treatment goals that doctors advise patients to pursue.

This renewed emphasis on early intervention comes alongside a deeper understanding of the need for comprehensive solutions for T2DM patients, comprising lifestyle modifications as well as pharmacological treatment. Doctors agree that the combination of lifestyle changes and drug therapy is key to preventing the development of further health risks, such as heart and renal disease.

“The risk of developing further complications such as kidney and cardiovascular disease increases when type 2 diabetes is not properly managed from the onset,” says Dr. Bobby Mirasol, Former President of Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (PSEDM) & ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies (AFES). “We’ve come to realize that the ill effects of diabetes on patients can be minimized with aggressive treatment early on. Because type 2 diabetes can lead to heart attack and and strokes, timely, comprehensive, and consistent intervention is hugely important.”
Novel treatment available

For patients with type 2 diabetes, doctors have long recommended glycemic control through pharmacotherapy, alongside the adoption of specific lifestyle-related treatment goals, such as maintaining a healthy body weight, avoiding fatty non-nutrient-dense food, and replacing refined carbohydrates with fiber-rich whole grains.

90% of all diabetes cases are classified as Type 2 (insulin-resistant). And the increase in visceral fat makes Asians prone to diabetes according to Dr. Roberto Mirasol.

The oral medication, Dapagliflozin, by AstraZeneca, is a selective and reversible inhibitor of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) that works independently of insulin to help flush out excess sugar out of the body through urine removing accompanying calories, thus reducing blood sugar levels while supporting the important goals of weight loss and blood pressure reduction.

The unique mode of action the drug offers is the first of its kind and not seen among current available treatments for type 2 diabetes in the Philippines. This is the first medicine in the new SGLT2 class to gain regulatory approval in the world, granted by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Dapagliflozin has been subsequently approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is also approved in 40 countries including Australia.

The novel drug is to be used as a supplement to diet and exercise to improve blood glucose control alone, or in combinations with other oral glucose-lowering medicinal products, such as metformin as well as insulin.

“The results we’ve seen so far with the early use of dapagliflozin among patients have been very promising,” says Dr. Rima Tan, President of Diabetes Philippines. “Our patients so far have exhibited healthier blood sugar levels. And because weight loss and healthy blood pressure are integral parts of any successful treatment regimen, having a drug that also supports these other objectives is a great advantage.”

Experts acknowledge that these additional benefits are especially important in populations prone to diabesity, the concurrence of obesity and diabetes, which Filipinos are prone to.

AstraZeneca celebrates 20,000 lives changed and counting

Since its approval in 2014, dapagliflozin has been used to effectively treat more than 20,000 patients in the Philippines alone, with doctors citing it as an effective component of early type 2 diabetes treatment.

“It is the benefits being experienced by these patients that matters the most,” says Dr. Emmanuel Arca, Associate Medical and Regulatory Affairs Director of AstraZeneca Philippines. “We’ve been hearing a lot of good news about how dapagliflozin has contributed to the holistic treatment of type 2 diabetes by combining blood sugar lowering with the additional benefit of weight and blood pressure reduction.”

“Having such a drug available goes a long way towards preventing the various complications associated with the disease, especially since being overweight increases those risks,” says Dr. Arca. “While dapagliflozin is relatively new, initial results have renewed our hopes of helping type 2 diabetes patients’ live full and happy lives.”

Regenerate with Regenesis The Face & Body Botique

Ageing spares no one. Skins in their thirties show already sign of maturity. Millions of cells in our body die everyday, taking a toll on our skin and body. This results to volume loss in the face, loss of skin elasticity and other less desirable physical changes. And while we can’t stop ourselves from ageing, we can undergo treatments that will slow down and reduce its visible effects. Implications of ageing can be prevented.

If you long for a younger-looking skin, you should pursue medical aesthetic treatments at an earlier age to help prevent the appearance of aging and scarring. The earlier you start in keeping your skin in tip top condition before the signs of aging becomes noticeable, the better the results.

The skin gets thinner and dryer with time. We lose the elastic and plump appearance of the skin with the decrease in collagen and this makes our skin prone to lines. The body may have the capacity to heal itself, but takes more time for the young cells to migrate the top layer of the face as we age, making the skin look duller. And as the body's ability to repair slows down, the wait is longer and even impossible. This very principle of Regeneration is what Regenesis offers. Regenesis utilizes techniques that are anchored in speeding up the body’s regeneration abilities. It uses safe and state-of-the-art technologies that aid in the body’s regeneration abilities.
