Tupperware launches New Kitchen Tools



Last month,  Tupperware Brands held its first Bloggers meet up at their office in Pasay City,  I joined in a group of mombloggers to witness the brand's new kitchen offerings.

All is set for the 5th BGC Passionfest


Once again, BGC commemorates Bonifacio Day with three days of Filipino music, art, and culture this November 25-27, 2016. The streets of Bonifacio Global City will come alive with a grand, colorful parade celebrating our Filipino roots, a series of lively street dances, variety shows, a string of exciting games and workshops, plus sumptuous food for the BGC community and guests to feast on.

BGC Passionfest is an annual celebration of all things Filipino, held in homage of the life of the hero Andres Bonifacio. It aims to rekindle the Filipino spirit and elicit a renewed sense of pride to be Filipino. The street fiesta that opens from 11AM to 8PM will surely guarantee a fun-filled celebration for BGC Passionfest's fifth straight year.




With the theme “Bayanihan Fiesta,”  this year’s celebration will revolve around  the Filipino’s unique spirit of communal unity and cooperation despite trying times.



BGC’s City Marketing Assistant Manager, Joanne Magno says “For full three days, BGC Passionfest will showcase the richness of Philippine culture and the arts, celebrate all passionate activities, and gather families and friends.”

Don’t miss this year’s giant Slidefest and take part in activities such as the wacky obstacle race, tangram, ring toss, plus bike lessons for the young and the young-at-heart! Also, witness special performances from Globe Live’s Christmas Symphonies, The Mind Museum’s Science Circus Show, and many more artists!


Art Renaissance in BGC

Coinciding with the celebration of this year’s Passionfest is an arts festival that will highlight the newly-constructed BGC Arts Center. BAFI’s Art Program Manager, Monica Llamas-Garcia says “The festival will showcase the inspired spaces of this newest structure that will host art performances, exhibitions, and other forms of artistic expression.”


It is a three-story complex that will serve as a one-stop hub for passionate individuals, both BGCitizens and visitors alike to reveal their talents and share their creativity to the world.

The BGC Arts Center is made up of three main structures: the Maybank Performing Arts Theater, the Alveo Central Plaza, and the SunLife Amphitheater.

The Maybank Performing Arts Theater will be the home of three large performance spaces – the Globe Auditorium with a maximum seating capacity of 500 persons; the Zobel de Ayala Recital Hall that can seat about 100 individuals; and the Exhibit Hall that’s located on the third floor of the arts theater.

The BGC Arts Center is expected to open to the public on December 1st.

BGC Passionfest and the BGC Arts Center Festival are just two of the fun activities that jumpstart exciting days ahead in BGC. A wave of hearty, special events will come your way as the Christmas season begins.

Spend Wisely this Christmas



It is that time of the year once more when people from all walks life feel the need to go over the top in a conspiracy of love. With 36 days left before Christmas, and still with a long shopping list to complete, I grow impatient and tense as Christmas draws near. I still have a lot of things to do, and this includes shopping for Christmas gift bargains. This proves to be even more difficult when you are living in a single paycheck.

Living from paycheck to paycheck limits one's spending. Money is often gone within a few days, so we have to do advance planning until the next paycheck. I must always work within a the budget for every gift I need to buy for. While I want the finest gift for my love ones, my wallet does not allow me to indulge in sometimes.

It is so easy for bargains hunters like myself to get carried away buying clearance mark-downs. Instead of saving up money, I oftentimes buy way too much of sale items that I have no use or need for and end up over-spending. I realize that going mall sale weekends is not really a smart move when we are trying our best to live within our means.

Procter and Gamble sets a new Guinness World Record title



Christmas came early as Procter and Gamble partnered with Puregold for 7th VIPuring Convention that honors sari-sari and grocery store owners for their continued patronage of the supermarket chain.

The biggest and best-ever VIPuring event was dubbed as “Joy to the World: A Merry Christmas Convention” with Joy dishwashing liquid as its featured lead brand. Other leading Procter and Gamble brands such as Safeguard, Ariel, and Downy were also featured in the event.





 And to drum up the festive spirit, Procter and Gamble and Puregold celebrated by setting a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for “Most People Washing Dishes Simultaneously” using just one sachet of Joy dishwashing liquid.

“We wanted VIPuring attendees to be part of a breakthrough and historic event, so we initiated this GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS attempt. We gathered 300 people to wash plates at the same time to set the record”, says Shreyas Subbaraya, head of shopper marketing, Procter and Gamble Philippines.




People washed 2,017 plates with just one 45ml sachet of Joy Kalamansi. “This demonstrates Joy’s remarkable Bisang Katutak performance”, adds Mr. Subbaraya.

Actor Luis Manzano, actor and producer Gerald Anderson and two of the country’s most admired singers Jaya and Jose Mari Chan were part of the merry-making event as a special treat to VIPuring attendees.

Security Bank presents BetterBanking Stories featuring real people

As part of its 65th founding anniversary, Security Bank Corporation turns the spotlight on its customers through the Better Banking Stories campaign.

 The BetterBanking Stories campaign shares the triumphs and struggles of real bank clients—varied as a celebrity doctor building her empire, a loving couple from different backgrounds raising their children, and a young actress finding her way in the industry—while giving them a common ground in their relationship with Security Bank.

Security Bank’s BetterBanking Stories campaign kicked off with a set of TV Commercials narrating Security Bank’s relationship with its more famous clients like Dr. Vicki Belo, Erwan Heussaff, and Janine Gutierrez. “

But the story doesn’t end among the famous, Security Bank decided to continue featuring other bank clients who made it big in their own field through the bank’s promise of Better Banking.

A series of interviews with fifteen (and counting) personalities from varied walks of life — doctors, entrepreneurs, fashion icons, families, and career personalities — who are part of Security Bank’s multitude of clients nationwide. All the BettterBanking Stories are housed online on the BetterBanking Stories microsite.

“We initially started our campaign with Dr. Vicki, Erwan, and Janine, ” Patricia Tan, First Vice President and Retail Marketing Division Head of Security Bank, notes, “And we were so surprised by the positive feedback from our clients and general viewers. In their BetterBanking Stories, F and B entrepreneurs like veteran chef Jessie Sincioco and coffee-pioneer Andre Chanco share the excitement and struggles of growing their businesses. On the media side, blogger Cecile van Straten and editorial maven Juana Manahan-Yupangco discuss life before and after children.

Across the pond of subcultures are UXMNL founder Phil Smithson and Spiralytics CEO Jimmy Cassells who discuss the challenges of running startups in hyper competitive industries as well as doctors who elaborate on their own relationships with patients. In a particularly poignant moment, Dr. Arturo Dela Peña, Medical Director of St. Luke’s Global City, reminisces about how falling face-first on horse manure motivated him — a farmer’s son — to study hard and become a doctor.

But while the stories reflect deeply on each individual customer’s life — whether a focus on career growth, raising families, or life in the public eye — an undercurrent of surprise and satisfaction in their relationship with Security Bank runs across the campaign.

AirAsia launches its #HowIFlyChallenge CSR Campaign

"Take only pictures, leave only footprints, kill only time." I heard these lines from our mountaineering group leader many years ago when I joined in a Taal Volcano climb. While the linese has its origin as a mountaineering quote, it is also often used when travelling in remote areas of the world as it voices concerns on the effects of walkers and mountaineers on wild land.

Last November 9, 2016, AirAsia called for responsible travel with the launch of its #HowIFly Campaign. The environmental movement is an online movement that aims to inspire, enable, and empower travellers to minimize their carbon footprints.

"HowIFly calls for responsible travel, and the value of generating a positive impact on communities, wildlife, and the environment. Over 1.5 billion travellers are expected to travel each year by 2020, and we have the power to change our world by simply becoming aware and responsible of our actions," said AirAsia Philippines' CEO Dexter Comendador.

Months ago, AirAsia launched their #WhyIFly initiative to encourage more people to take on travel and spread the love of storytelling by taking beautiful photographs and video clips. Taking  photos and video are the best  ways to enjoy these places as they are least invasive. With the launch of #HowIFly, the focus shifts to  making a huge difference by taking on responsibility as a traveller.

"More than an airline operator, AirAsia is a company that understands people and the true needs of discerning travellers.
