13th Philippine TOYCON is coming your way this June 20 to 22, 2014 at the SM Megatrade Halls

Toy enthusiasts, hobbyists, and cosplayers will come together again as the Asia’s biggest and longest running convention for collectibles, toys, anime, comics, cosplay, and gaming character celebrates its 13th year of pop culture in the country.

The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention, or TOYCON has been thrilling fans and aficionados alike since 2002. And this year’s TOYCON will highlight the 75th Anniversary of DC Comics’ caped Crusader, Batman. Aside from a huge Batman display area, there will be a life size Batpod, a kids’ activity area, booths with exciting new Batman merchandise, and a gallery of art and collectibles of the Dark Knight Detective.

Warner Bros. has flown in original costumes from the sensational Japanese hit movie, “Rurouni Kenshin” and sequels “Kyoto Inferno” and “The Legend Ends” earlier. These authentic film costumes (designed by Kazuhiro Sawataishi) will be publicly displayed at the 13th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2014 this weekend.

Preview of Marvel’s latest epic movie – The Guardians of the Galaxy, with awesome displays, sneak peeks at the movie’s trailers and behind-the-scenes, special fan activities, and the Marvel roster of superstar artists like Leinil Yu, Carlo Pagulayan, Stephen Segovia, Roy Allan Martinez and Kim Jacinto.

TOYCON 2014 gives you the biggest gathering of toy collections showcasing exhibits such as:

Last Saturday, I was invited to watch Edge of Tomorrow via the Dolby Atmos experience at Promenade Cinema 6.
It was my very first time to experience Dolby® Atmos™ . I’ve read on its unique layered approach to sound design and so I was eager to see how the full-sized speakers wedged into the theater’s ceiling at key locations.

Dolby® Atmos™ , the revolutionary sound technology in world class cinema audio standard debuted in the Philippines at the Greenhills Cinemas 6, 7 and 8 at the new Promenade, Greenhills Shopping Center on July 11, 2013. The event was hosted by Jason Webb. De La Salle PEP Squad graced the draft activity with its cheer dance and group stunt. It was also announced during the draft that NBA superstar and Minnesota Timberwolves Power Forward, Kevin Love, would fly into Manila to do his signature moves alongside dunkers from the US. Even though Love is not part of the game proper, he will compete in a three-point contest at halftime of the Master All-Star Game Face Challenge.
