NIDO Fortigrow® celebrates Mother's Day through its video tribute entitled “Different Times, Same Love"

At one point in our young lives, our mothers became its the focal point. Motherhood is the toughest job on earth but moms take on the responsibility and stay strong to set a spotless example for her children. There is no way we can ever thank her enough and so, we all take the time to pay tribute to our mother on the special occasion of Mother's Day. Mothers Day is the perfect day to celebrate the joys of having a mother.

Last year, Nido invited kids to declare their heart-warming messages for their mothers through customized shirts that were eventually immortalized and sent to their moms just in time for Mother's Day. The "Wear Your Love" campaign made it possible for moms to wear their families' love via personalized #1Mom shirts.

This time around, Nido Fortigrow® comes up with a heart-warming video to pay tribute to all the mothers for their timeless and nurturing love. “Different Times, Same Love" shows how the sacrifices a mother makes. Times may change, but a mother’s love is timeless. This inspiring video tribute shows why our moms will always be #1.

Korean Fare at Leann's Tea House

If you are always in the lookout for unique, healthy, and spicy food, then Korean food is a near-perfect answer to your quest for delicious diet. And Leann’s Tea House brings about the different ingredients and techniques that make Korean food special.

Memorable food experiences in Korea leads to the origin of Leann's

When the eldest daughter Jacklyn Chua married Youngbae Park, the Chua family were introduced to Korean cuisine. They were amazed with the happy harmony of intriguing Korean tastes that they took on the idea of opening up a Korean restaurant in the Philippines. Hence, Leann’s Tea House was established in April 5, 2014. Leann's Tea House was named after the Jacklyn Chua and Youngbae Park's firstborn, Leann.
Since then, the restaurant serves authentic Korean food that has been part of Park's family's treasured recipes throughout generations.

Just like any proper Korean meal, we were served an assortment of banchan or side dishes. Kimchi, Potato Salad, Lettuce Salad and Kong Namul (beansprouts) comes in free up to three servings.

Hameul Jeon (P 250) is traditional seafood pancake served as appetizer or snack. Green onions, carrots, cabbage, and seafoods were mixed with a plain batter. Korean vinegar and soy sauce dip gives it a little more flavor.

Tonkatsu Kimbap (P 250) is Leann's Tea House's version of Japanese sushi. It serves kimbap in crisp golden breading. Tonkatsu Kimbap combines two of my favorites in one dish! What can I ask for?

Here are my top three favorites at Leann's Tea House:

Bibimbap (P 210) is one of the three dishes which mostly represent Korean cuisine, along with kimchi and bulgogi. This mixed rice comes with seasoned vegetables, minced beef, egg and chili paste. I love Bibimbap because it provides nutritional balance our body needs in one hefty serving. Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) and Gochugaru (Korean red pepper powder) were served on the side so that customers can customize the Bibimbap dish in varying degrees of spiciness.
Galbi Jjim (P 720) is Korean Beef Stew. It was the first dish to go. I really enjoyed its rich broth, which comes in fruity sweet (the unique flavor comes from a Korean plum) and filled with tender slabs of imported beef plus vegetables. This special stew is something which you must try.

Ojinguh Bokkeum (P 270) is a Spicy Stir-Fried Squid. It has generous amount of squid strips, carrots, green onions, cabbage mixed in with the hot paste plus topped with sesame seeds. It tasted so good that I helped myself to second serving despite the spiciness.

Leann’s Tea House is the perfect place for family gatherings and dinner dates. Check it out soon.

Summer Fun at Splash Island

The sun was hot and so we agreed to an invitation from Quitlong family to cool down at Splash Island. This 7-hectare waterpark is the first and largest water theme park in the Philippines. I availed of Splash Island one-year unlicard when it opened in the early 90s and was thrilled to be back.

We brought sunblock lotions and sun-protective hats to protect us from the scorching heat of the sun and from the damaging UV rays. You might want to check out the baby boy hats perfect for the summer.     A hat protects the head, hair, eyes, neck and face when the sun is strong.

We decided to get a nipa hut near the Water Wahoo, an ankle-deep wading pool with a kiddie slide and sprinklers. The playground nearby keeps the kids active and happy as the adults get good massage from its water spa sprinklers. This is actually one the two swimming pools. The other pool is Agos Grandes.

Agos Grandes is the main pool with artificial waves. It is the only pool where you can enjoy swimming in and where inflatables/kayaks can be used. It looks like a real beach with a white sand shoreline and palm trees. It provides the ample space for enjoyment of beach volleyball.

Balsa River is a lazy-river style attraction where you can float on tubes along a circular path, propelled by a current of water.

Other amenities include Wall Climbing, Zipline Ride, Kiddie paddle boat and Kayaking Session.

Rio Montanosa is a family raft ride that I like. The Big Bam Boo is a thrilling covered tunnel ride that sends you into pure excitement. The King Pilipit is a swirling slide ride for two that drops you in a pool. The Magellan's Drop mimics a surf ride like no other! It was really worth the long line queue.

Overall, we enjoyed riding the different slides though it was exhausting climbing the stairs with inflatables. How convenient would it be if these floats were made available at the top. It is quite disappointing that these water attractions now follow a certain schedule.

So to maximize your enjoyment at the waterpark, take time to check out the ride schedules. No food and drinks are allowed inside the theme park is another thing that you should take note of. Other than these, the P299 per head entrance makes it a good deal.  Visit Splash Island soon!
