What’s Your Love Vibe

You came into my life at a time I was disillusioned in love. Three long relationships that ended one after the other left me bitter, angry, and lonely. I was in a pity pot.

You appeared to be comical and not a person searching for love. I was afraid of trusting and opening myself up to people because of those who have hurt me in the past. But you restored my faith in love and years of my unbelieving in love suddenly stopped. You made it possible for me to welcome love back in by your patience, love and kindness.

I never thought that I'll find the love of my life in you.
It has been a decade since we counted years from our young love, promising to stay in love forever. Like any other relationship, ours went through rough sailing. I almost gave up during those times of uncertainties and difficulties. I have hurt you intentionally and unintentionally.

All through it all I find comfort in knowing that God has a plan for us and that your unceasing love will continue to bind us. I do know that unconditional love will make it all easier for us to overcome obstacles along the way. I'm sorry for not saying "I love you" as often as I can. I admit that I am a fool for not showing you enough affection.
Last Valentine’s Day dinner was indeed a very special and beautiful treat for me and our daughter. I realized that it has been three years since we last celebrated the occasion. That lovely day reminded me how good it all began--how the stars in the heavens aligned to lead our paths to one another. Celebrating Valentine’s Day helped rekindled the sparks that brought us together.
Finding you and having Danica as gift of our love is the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you and counting the years with you is all I want to do.
How about you? What’s Your Love Vibe?

Mrs. Philippines Globe is now on its 3rd Year

Last February 26, I was one of Mommy Bloggers Philippines group members given the privilege to meet 2012 Mrs. Philippines Globe and Mrs. Globe Finals Face of the Year Joyce Agsaway, 2013 Mrs. Philippines Globe Ruby Jane Lehmann and its National Pageant Director, Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo. Also present were Solane Mother of the Year winner, Jessie Lou Lucero and Steph Magali Malibiran, who won Mrs. Asia Tourism International 2013 in Malaysia.
The Mrs. Philippines-Globe search is a means for married women or single mothers to fulfill their dreams of becoming a beauty queen. Filipinas who fit in the rare combination of beauty and substance will have equal opportunity to fulfill dreams and destiny to do great things as they compete in one of the biggest international pageants for married women usually participated in by 40 countries.
Mrs. Philippines-Globe national pageant director Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo herself was a beauty queen. She was hand-picked to represent the Philippines for Mrs. Globe 2011. After her  wonderful experience competing in the US finals, she acquired Mrs. Globe license to run the pageant locally through her company EVI Marketing Communications.

At the Meet and Greet, Agsaway and Malibiran joined our table to share more about their journey and relay how the Mrs. Philippines-Globe competition changed their lives. Their outstanding feats truly exemplifies what a woman of substance is all about.

Grand winner of Mrs. Philippines-Globe first-ever search in 2012, Joycelyn Agsaway, juggles motherhood and work as manager of Edsa Shangri-La’s Horizon Club. Aside from being a family-oriented woman hotelier, she also finds time for her advocacy, working as a volunteer teacher at University of the Philippines’ Ugnayan ng Pahinungod. Tallest among the first Mrs. Philippines-Globe batch at 5'10", Agsaway bested 14 other finalists and took home P700,000 worth of prizes. She represented the Philippines to the Mrs. Globe World Finals last August 11-19, 2012 in Rancho Mirage, California, USA and won Mrs. Globe Finals Face of the Year.

Stephanie Malibiran, a wife to a medical practitioner, and a mother of one, was voted as the Most Beautiful Face during the Mrs. Philippines-Globe 2013 candidates’ press presentation. Though a runner up at Mrs. Philippines-Globe 2012, it didn't deter her to strive and compete in Malaysia the following year. It won her the international title Mrs. Asia International Tourism 2013.

Women usually have their hands full---juggling husbands, children, managing households, serving communities and jobs. Speaking to these two women whose married status didn’t get in the way of fulfilling their dreams made me realize that women should always keep the big picture in mind and always focus on constructive ways to get even better.

About Mrs. Philippines Globe

Mrs. Philippines-Globe is the local franchise of Mrs. Globe USA, which aims to help women and children recover their self-esteem through empowerment and in ensuring basic rights and human dignity. Mrs. Philippines-Globe is a preliminary to Mrs. Globe competitions. Competing for the title is once in a lifetime experience. Mrs. Philippines-Globe is directed at inspiring Filipinas on how they can use their beauty and talent to contribute to society. Do join in because you deserve it.

Mrs. Globe in the US is a fund-raising project of the Women In Need Foundation that advocates women empowerment. Women In Need (WIN) Foundation on the other hand, is founded by a group of women activists with the aim to achieve total liberation and comprehensive empowerment of women and children in the most vulnerable sections of the local community. The said foundation is committed to developing the potential of those who are socially and economically marginalized. It provides services and support aimed at long-term sustainable development of women and children in the downtrodden community.

Mrs. Philippines Globe 2014 pageant screenings will be held on March 15 for Cebu/Davao Screening at Teatro Casino, PAGCOR Cebu, Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City. For those coming from GMA/Luzon areas, screening will be held on March 22 at Citrus Snap Studio, 8th Floor, RCI Building, Rada Street, Makati City.

Twenty (20) candidates will be shortlisted to compete for Mrs. Philippines Globe 2014 crown on May 17 national pageant night at SMX Aura Premiere in Bonifacio Global City. The crowned Mrs. Philippines Globe 2014 will then represent the country at the Mrs. Globe 2015 World Finals in Shenzhen, China come November 2014.

Leave Nothing Undone with Leatherman Pocket Tool

The Leatherman Multi-tool is one of the most versatile tools that you can use for all your repair and maintenance needs. Relatively compact and lightweight, this all around Leatherman tool fits pretty well in a pants pocket.
It is your go-to tool that packs a knife, screwdrivers, a pair of pliers and literally everything that you would need to repair and fix nearly every item in your house. Moreover, the full-size Leatherman Wingman multitool will be there for you when you face unexpected repair tasks, car troubles and outdoor emergencies.

Tim Leatherman was inspired in creating the tool after he and his wife got back from travelling abroad. The unreliable $300 Fiat he was using then frequently breaks down and while doing the car repairs, the thought of having a pair of pliers and a knife in handy all the time kept nagging him.

“I was carrying an old Boy Scout-type knife and used it for everything from slicing bread to making adjustments to the car. But I kept wishing I had a pair of pliers!” he said.
Leatherman multitools can be subdivided between blade-in and blade-out designs. The Rebar is a blade-in design while the Wingman is blade-out.

Rebar has a much superior shear-type wire-cutter with replaceable blades. The Wingman has a butt-type or pinch-type wire-cutter. Both work, but the Rebar works noticeably better, especially for hard wire.

The Rebar has a large plain blade and an equally-large serrated blade. You must open the tool to have access to the knife blades. Wingman on the other hand, has only a single combination blade, but it is instantly available as they would be in a pocket knife because of its blade-out design. The said knife is very sharp and can easily be opened with one hand. If your most common use of the tool will be for cutting with the knife blades, then the Wingman would be more convenient for you. The Wingman is recommended for people who uses the knife and the scissor frequently.

The scissors also have a lock, like the knife, but you need to push a bit further to lock it. Once it's locked, very easy to use it.

The package opener is extremely useful. Other than opening bubble packages, it can be used to cut zip ties by holding it tight against the zip tie and pulling it towards you. It also is good for cutting packaging tape and other items which you would normally cut with a knife.

“The quality you get with a Leatherman tool is unmatched,” he says. “Leatherman tools are warrantied for 25 years. We use the finest materials in our tools including high-quality stainless steel. We also use Titanium on some of our models, which is a strong and light material. The value is much higher than the price you pay, even though the price is high,” he adds.

Leatherman however, forewarns that stainless steel is corrosion resistant but will still rust. Some maintenance is required to keep your stainless steel Leatherman tools corrosion-free. The tool should be cleaned with soap and water after use especially if after working on acidic environments.

The official distributor of Leatherman in the Philippines, Willie Hahn Enterprises, recognizes the potential of Leatherman Pocket Tool and sees a growing need for such tools. “For Filipino who are always on the go, ease of access to everything is quite important. So, having a handy dandy tool which fits in the pocket will definitely answer the growing need for products like these on the market”, says Willie Hahn.

Geothe Institut Philippines hosted a panel discussion on“Learn German and Land a Job”. The number of German companies operating in the country is steadily increasing and so how learning the German Language gives leverage to Filipino graduates in landing a job in these organizations was tackled.

Zen Institute launches its Medical Spa

As the healthcare market become more mainstream, an interesting hybrid healthcare/cosmetic facility called medical spa blossomed. Medical spas emerged ten years ago and are now exploding in number.

People now are living longer lives and are conscious about prolonging their health. That is why Zen Institute came up with its Four Pillars of a TRUE Medical Spa.

Zen Institute's Chief Executive Officer and Founder Dr. Mary Jane Torres reveals that “The very essence, the foundation that makes a medical spa – truly a medical spa is if it is able to fuse, blend, integrate without cutting corners the four elements:

Facial contouring
Hair treatments
Body sculpting
Skin rejuvenation

Nutritional programs
Fitness programs (Yoga/Zumba/Rip60)

Weight Management

I.V. Nutrition

She then enumerates and expounds. “The Aesthetic element which is non-invasive, include facial contouring, hair treatments, body sculpting, skin rejuvenation, whitening, fillers for lips, nose, cheeks, Botox, carbon laser, and lipo-cryo that use extreme cold temperature to melt body fats without pain. The Integrative element applies non-invasive yet protocol-based approaches for various medical treatments is always, always based on a patient’s individual needs. It offers colonics nutrition which is an intravenous procedure done in-clinic for health and wellness within the patient’s body system and combine detoxification, dietary supplements, prescribed medication for hormonal balance. The Lifestyle element include body and mind pampering such as nutritional and calorie-burning fitness regimen: Yoga, TRX, RIP 60 and Zumba workouts and counseling with qualified personal trainers to help those who want to stay active, stretch and tone their muscles even while undergoing various treatments, while the The Pampering element offers spa treatments and protocols for anti-ageing and weight management are also considered a therapeutic treatment.” Indeed, these essential elements are the very pillars and bedrock…the very foundation that define an authentic Medical Spa.

Attain your dream body with The Zen Institute’s Weight Management Program

Everyone hopes of having a long and healthy life ahead. However, not everyone has the strong will and mindset to achieve it, no thanks to their sedentary lifestyle and bad eating habits.

That's where Dr. Mary Jane Torres comes in your life. Dr.Torres offers various programs for those who want to shed off unwanted pounds safely. Zen Institute's weight management program includes a carefully monitored and supported nutritional counseling to clients.

In achieving that picture-perfect body she believes in opting for a non-invasive procedures which includes meal replacement, proper diet, a workout regimen and colon cleansing.

Meal Replacement

Eating six apples a day is one way to jumpstart your metabolism according to Dr. Torres.

“That’s all you’re going to eat, and drink around 10 to 12 glasses of water. Eat two apples for breakfast, two for lunch and two for dinner. That would really reset and jumpstart your weight management program.”

Torres however stressed, doing this is a one-time activity and should not replace regular meals. After that, patients can then proceed to having meal replacements. "Sometimes, our patients cannot cook healthy meals anymore, so we offer them meal replacements along with nutritional counseling."

Non-invasive Treatments

Aside from nutritional counseling, The Zen Institute also promotes non-invasive procedures to sustain weight loss. Torres said, her clinic offersLipocryo, a new technology that combines vacuum and specifically controlled cooling technology which reduces fat bulges. With Lipocryo, results can be achieved with up to three sessions every 45 days. Another procedure which Torres also offers her patients is Ultralipo.

An alternative to liposuction,Ultralipo offers a way to reduce general and localized cellulite and body volume. It is also known to decrease the size of problem areas by up to two centimeters per session.

Mesotherapy and L-Carnitine

Another way to help you achieve the body that you dream of is getting L-carnitine injections. L-carnitine plays a major role in the transport of fatty acids and in other important metabolic processes. Aside from that, L-carnitine also fights visceral belly fats which may later on lead to fat gain within the organs such as the liver, heart or even in muscle.

Aside from fat loss, L-carnitine also improves your recovery from intense training, increases work capacity, prevents diabetes and improves insulin health.  Zen Institute offers patients L-carnitine Injections two to three times a week for six weeks to ensure that weight loss is continuous.

Another effective fat burning method Zen offers is Mesotherapy. Mesotherapyis composed of multiple injections of pharmaceutical and homeopathic medications, plant extracts, vitamins and other ingredients into subcutaneous fat, specifically targeting adipose fat cells. It is a procedure used for weight loss and body sculpting to reduce, eliminate and contour undesired fat pockets. This method targets the receptors on fat cells that produce lipogenesis or fat production and lipolysis which means fat breakdown. Once injected into the skin, the mesotherapy formula slowly diffuses into the fat, and breaks it down. However, the number of weight loss and body sculpting treatments required varies from person to person.

Colon Cleansing

The Zen Institute offers a new addition into their weight management program. Dr. Torres said, they now offer colon cleansing or “colonics” to clients who are keen on disposing all the negative wastes in the body.

Colonics are the gentle rinsing of the colon with warm water, to remove encrusted fecal matter, gas & mucus. This allows vital nutrients to be absorbed & leaves you feeling healthy & light. Aside from that, colonics also help retone& reshape the colon which is beneficial especially to those who are constipated.

The Zen Institute also offers a coffee cocktail for colonics clients, which can enhance faster metabolism and improve better absorption of nutrients in the body. Clients can lose up to 20 pounds using this procedure at least twice a month.

Workout Regimen

Not only does it offer medical procedures to their clients who want to lose and manage their weight. The medispa now offers workout classes for those who want to stay active and have “zen” in their lives. Zen offers yoga, TRX and RIP 60 classes at their newly-renovated Scout Rallos, QC branch.

Dr. Torres said, she decided to offer the services to ensure that her clients still get to work out, stretch and tone their muscles while undergoing various treatments from the medispa.

The Zen Institute is located at Ground Floor, Bonifacio Technology Center, 31st St., Corner 2nd Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig (02-856-2027),69 Scout Rallos St., Tomas Morato Quezon City (02-441-1712/02-412-2528) and at the St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center, Maharlika Highway, Bgy. 2, Sto.Tomas, Batangas (+43-778-4811).

CIM Technologies at the forefront of 3D Printing

Charles Hull first developed the technology for printing physical 3D objects from digital data in 1984. A shot-glass sized plastic cup that took several days to design and print was the first thing that inventor Charles Hull created when he prototyped it more than 30 years ago.

Mr. Victoriano T. Yap discusses how 3D Printing will change the way companies manufacture
3D printing technology remained mostly a curiosity until 3D Systems Corporation, improved the durability and finish of 3D–printed objects in the past few years. Scientists and researchers are dwarfing early models nowadays both in the sheer size and wealth of materials that they are prototyping. 3D printing enables the creation of a 3D solid physical object of virtually any shape from a digital or CAD file faster than a traditional physical prototyping.

3D Systems Corporation together with the country’s leading pioneer in providing technology solutions for design and innovation, CIM Technologies Inc., make your designs come to life. CIM Technologies Inc.’s wide array of 3D printers allow designers and engineers to imagine, computer–model and build objects within hours. With these 3D printers, you can communicate the look, feel, and style of product designs better.
In its second generation, the Cube 3D Printer is now offering faster printability and more materials and modes with the same easy, out-of-the-box 3D printing. Produce realistic or vivid color models in one step. Your design can be printed in 16 different colors using a plastic filament. This plug and play machine allows post processing so you can go beyond what your creativity dictates you.

ProJet Professional 3D Printer lets you print your design in full color using powder plaster composites with fine details.

There is a 3D printer to suit your needs be it a conceptual or functional scale model, full color or monochrome, plastic or powder plaster material. Other materials such as metals and carbon fibre will be added in time. Turn your designs into reality with 3D printers made available to you by CIM Technologies Inc.

Truly, the rise and development of 3D printing and its capabilities will play an undeniable part in our future lives. By enabling a machine to produce objects of any shape, on the spot and as needed, 3-D printing really is ushering in a new era. As 3-D printing takes hold, goods will be infinitely more customized since altering only requires only tweaking the instructions in the software. Without the need for retooling, creativity in meeting individuals’ needs will skyrocket.

CIM Technologies Inc. is in partnership with the world-leading IT companies such as 3D Systems, Oracle, Microsoft, HP, Apple, Autodesk and Siemens. It conducts a series of events and workshops nationwide to showcase the integrated solutions for design and innovation catered to the engineering, construction, architectural and manufacturing industries.
