Easy Hairstyles for Busy Moms

Moms have too many obligations and not enough time to devote to their appearance. Here are a few easy-to-do hairstyles to try when it comes time to get ready and get on with the day. One doesn’t have to go to a school for cosmetology in order to learn these simple hairstyles:

• Side Braid – Casual braids offer soft texture and relaxed style. Work a dollop of mousse through dry hair. Gather the hair under one ear and braid, securing it when finished.
• Loose Curls – Easy to do curls make a great impression; all you need is dry shampoo, hair spray and a 1-inch curling iron. Divide your hair in eight sections and wrap each of them around the curling iron. Spray on hair spray and run your fingers through the curls to separate them. Adding dry shampoo to the roots of hair brings added volume.
• High Bun – This is a great hairstyle for both short and long hair and can look sophisticated. At the top of the head, the bun location draws attention to both eyes and cheekbones, giving the face a lift. Spritz texturizing spray on dry hair, wrenching sections to create body. Gather hair into a high ponytail at the very top of the head. Now twist the hair around the gathered point and secure with elastic and bobby pins.
• Modern Ponytail – Ponytails are easy, but can look more sophisticated by creating a deep side part for securing strands. Simply brush straight hair and line up the part with the arch of the eyebrow, securing the hair at the nape of the neck.
• Quick French Twist – French twists are a sophisticated look and are deceptively simple to do, even at short lengths. Use a volumizer and scrape hair back for a natural look. Smooth hair over to one side and secure with several bobby pins down the back of the head in a vertical line. Flip the hair over to the other side so it covers line of pins, rolling and tucking the hair under the twist. Secure with large U-shaped pins to secure the hair.
