Christmas well-spent at Hotel 101

It's Christmas once again and we decided to spent it in a hotel.  This time, we booked at Hotel 101. I chose it because of the  hotel’s close proximity to the SM Mall of Asia.

My daughter and I met up with my husband at MOA on the morning of December 24th.  He will be coming from Bulacan and us from Laguna.  The man of the house has been busy all year-round and so our two-night staycation was much awaited.  Check in time is 2PM and so we had our lunch in the meantime.

We got to the hotel before 1PM.  I checked in hoping that we can get our room before 2PM and we did!   A room boy offered to assist us with our bags.

Hotel 101 is fairly new as it opened on October 12, 2015 with a total of 401 rooms and suites. This premium property lies across the Double Dragon Mall and lies along the busy EDSA Extension business district.

In just a few minutes after settling the P 1000 required deposit, I signed in on the form and I was handed two room keycards set on the 9th Floor plus a WIFI password.

The hotel's  minimalist theme, is evident from the lobby and all the up to the rooms.

The 911 room assigned to us door opens to an aisle. The panel door on the right side contains the closets with the safety box, hotel-issued bathrobes, and slippers. There is mini bar, coffeemaker and refrigerator located alongside the closet, adjacent to the flat TV wall. Above the sink, is an overhead cabinet which holds the microwave unit.

On left of the door panel opens to the comfort room.  It has glass-walled shower panels, a toilet, and a lavatory with toiletries and a hair dryer.  Clean towels were provided as well. The  toilet and bath were sparkling clean.  I was glad that they have hot and cold water options!

There were two beds---a queen-size bed and a twin-size one. It was utterly quiet in the room except for the TV.

The room was so comfortable that it felt like we never left home!

There is a pool area on the 2nd Floor that has a jacuzzi section.  My partner took a dip right after dropping the bags in the room while we ladies decided to make coffee and just stay in the room.

The restaurant named "Amico"  at the lobby offers buffet breakfast for the hotel guest.

Their breakfast menu was ordinary as compared to other hotels I’ve had breakfast. Their simple spread includes an assortment of cereals, bread, pastries, jams,  plus a couple of dishes which includes hubby’s favorite chicken adobo, pancit, sausages  and bacon.

There was a DIY omellete and salad section on the side. My daughter went in for her jams and youghurt meal with cucumber and then we headed back to the room.

It was a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel 101.  We will surely be back soon. The hotel is one of the stops of the Ube Express shuttle that goes to the airport, the NAIA Terminal 1, 2, and 3.
