Holidays are coming early at the SM Supermalls! The world-famous 100-day Christmas countdown is an exciting thing to look forward to and SM Supermalls kickstarted its 100 days to Christmas campaign with the #100DaysOfHappiness project at SM City North EDSA.
Each SM mall has partnered with LGU and cause-oriented organizations to support the marginalized sector. The 100 Days of Happiness project aims to create a circle of happiness with 76 participating SM malls, shoppers, the disadvantaged communities of women, persons deprived of liberty, artisans, cause-oriented organizations, and select local government units.
For this year's festive holiday build-up initiative, SM partnered with bag designer Zarah Juan (President of Green Leaf Ecobags Inc.), Spark PH, Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP), UNICEF, Association of Foot and Mouth Artists of the Philippines, and the Quezon City LGU for its Vote to Tote initiative, among others.
The upcycled post-election tarpaulin bags were featured on the "Happiness Walk" with QC Mayor Joy Belmonte and city counselors in their modern Filipina outfits earlier today. Ces Oreña Drilon, Gina Pareño, Jeremy Lapena and Bernice Sevilla of the Downs Syndrome Association of the Philippines also joined in the inclusive fashion show. This day of giving back is indeed the fun way to runway!
The tote bags will be sold at SM Aura Premier, SM Southmall, SM City Fairview, SM Megamall and SM City North EDSA.
Proceeds of the upcycled tote bags will be given to the women PDLs in Camp Karingal, and the marginalized women of Barangays Sto. Cristo, Greater Lagro, and Pinyahan in Quezon City.
100 Days of Happiness will further its cause until Christmas Day, with each SM mall supporting different charitable institutions, who in turn will share the joy with the communities they operate in.
With less than 100 days to Christmas, make #ChristmaSMoments a lot more meaningful by giving to those in need. The Season of Advent starts with a sense of anticipation. Make someone smile today.
