If you’re visiting the area, you have to check out the iconic Stanley Park, full of giant trees that are hundreds of years old. 

Vancouver is the gateway to Canada's great outdoors. Its proximity to both mountains and the ocean makes every kind of outdoor sports and adventure possible all year round! Playing in the scenic golf courses, mountain ziplining, surfing, kayaking, hiking, and skiing are just one of the many outdoor activities awaiting you.

Movies 

Did you know that many Hollywood movies are actually filmed in Vancouver? That’s right - this city is one of the most popular in all of North America when it comes to filming locations. Many familiar titles have been shot here, including Man of Steel, Deadpool, Juno, and Jumanji (thanks to that beautiful, preserved natural land on the outskirts of town).

There’s something the film industry finds versatile about Vancouver, and the city has played a role in many movies and TV shows, earning itself the title “Hollywood North.” 

Food Choices 

Vancouver is proud of their sustainable and fresh seafood catch, particularly salmon. There’s even an entire festival dedicated to salmon each year! Candied salmon sticks are all the rage - combining two of the most Vancouver-y things, seafood and maple syrup. 

There is also a large Asian population in Vancouver, which has the biggest Chinatown in the country. It is where you will find delicious, Asian-inspired fusion food. Speaking of Asian food, some call it the “sushi capital of North America” because of the fresh fish available in this coastal city and its robust Asian community. You can try a lot of unique Asian/Canadian combinations such as the Japadog - a cross between sushi and a hot dog.
