Malaysian all-digital, mobile-first bank CIMB Digital and partner Philippine fintech leader Mynt announced a landmark achievement in its aim towards digital financial inclusion for Filipinos.
CIMB Bank awarded its 500,000th customer earlier at the Grand Hyatt Manila with 500,000 pesos on his GCash account in a ceremony led by CIMB Group CEO Tengku Dato Sri Zafrul Aziz and GCash President and CEO Anthony Thomas earlier at the Grand Hyatt Manila to celebrate their milestone.
CIMB Bank Philippines is now considered as the fastest growing bank merely six months after opening business in the country.
"The acquisition of 500,000 users is a clear testament that the partnership between GCash and CIMB Bank through GSave is a success. GCash is an epayment platform owned by Mynt which allows access a savings account service. The 500,000 GSave users enjoy the benefits of a CIMB savings account, which is available as Save Money feature on the GCash app. GSave offers an interest rate of 3 percent per annum with no maintaining balance nor service charges for transactionts.
