The age of Instagram has given rise to a new genre of art installations that double as selfie backdrops.
On this note, SM Supermalls invited 3 young artists to bring life, color and fun at 3 of the SM malls in the EAST, SM City East Ortigas, SM City Taytay and SM Center Angono this 2018.
At the launch of Art East Live at SM East Ortigas last June 29, 2018, the participating artists--- Jappy Agoncillo, Paola Jane Esteron, and Choco Jerome were honored for making SM malls in the East, one of the best places to take amazing photos for Instagram feeds.
The art exhibit has the right lighting, the right backdrops, and the right amount of whimsy, that appeal to a well-styled Instagram photo. It is a joint project of SM Supermalls and Davies, with the goal to make East malls the home of contemporary and inter-active art, from digital artworks, calligraphy columns to graffiti walls.
To make it more exciting, the paintings are powered by the ZAPPAR App so you can bring the artworks to life, levelling up your digital posts on social. The Art East Live project marries art and technology to give visitors a more enhanced experience of the said art installations.
Located at the mall Atrium of the SM City East Ortigas, the immersive Art installation is free to the public.
