October is Go Pink! Campaign Month at the Festival Mall

This month of October, you’ll see pink ribbons around Festival Mall. They are everywhere, donning the mall's entrances, the tarpaulins and even the RiverPark. And they do matter. It seeks to remind us that breast cancer is an evil still yet to be destroyed.

Though breast cancer is considered as the most common type of cancer in women, there remain many misconceptions about its symptoms and treatment to this day. Festival Mall supports Go Pink!  Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. This movement for breast cancer prevention helps those diagnosed patients and survivors to face adversity with courage, determination, and positivity. It hopes to inspire others to make a difference in the life of a breast cancer survivor in the local community.

Go Pink! a month-long celebration of health, wellness, and fun will feature activities directed at heightening awareness about breast cancer, its symptoms, diagnosis, prevention and cure. All fund raising projects will benefit ICanServe Foundation, Project Pink, and Asian Hospital Charities, Inc. All these non-profit organizations serve to provide hope and understanding to women with breast cancer.

There will be Zumba classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of October. Mallgoers can also stretch and relax with Vinyasa Yoga sessions every Tuesday and Thursday of October. Zumba and Yoga Sessions start at 6:30PM at the 4th level, Expo Trade and Music Hall.

The Pink My Bike event is a fundraising activity being hosted by Go Pink! Get on your bike and raise money for Breast Cancer Care this October 10, 7AM. This cycling challenge follows a fantastic morning time route. Go dress up bike and come in your best pink get up.

Registration fee of P500 includes a ride kit. Prizes await  the Top 3 in Best Pink Costume and Best in Pink Bike Dress-up.

A seminar on the basics of breast cancer awareness and its early detection will be held October 8 at the second level Carousel Court by the I Can Serve. The Muntinlupa City Gender and Development Office will also conduct Pink Talk and conduct free breast exams during the activity.

The Muntinlupa City Gender and Development Office, the Ospital ng Muntinlupa, and Asian Hospital will also be conducting the Pink Mobile, a roving clinic that will provide free breast exams and breast cancer seminars to all female BPO and office employees around Filinvest City.

Capping off the month-long celebrations is Dash in Pink at the River Park. Join in the sea of pink on Sunday morning, on October 25, 6:00AM in support of breast cancer awareness. Top 3 finisher in the male and female divisions will be rewarded with gift certificates. Registration fee for the fun run will be P500 for a 5K run inclusive of a running kit.

Buy Go Pink! Paracord keychains (P 200), bracelets (P 200) and brooches (P 150) to support the cause. Proceeds will help fund the activities of Stage Zero by Project Pink, I Can Serve Foundation and the Asian Hospital Charities Inc. for breast cancer patients.

And Festival Mall rewards your simple effort of buying those rose hue ribbons. You get special discounts from selected Festival Mall tenants by showing the paracord items this entire month of October. Help survivors thrive by making a difference in the life of a local survivor. Your donation is a caring way to remember a loved one you lost to breast cancer while contributing to the survivors still fighting the battle in a powerful way.

Breast cancer shatters self-esteem. Your gift of giving will help someone find a way through one of the toughest challenges they’ll ever face. Revel in the feeling knowing you just did something for someone you might not even know.

  7. Kudos to Festival Mall for lending a hand in helping spread awareness on breast cancer. This is a very interesting + worthy cause to be part of. If I live nearer, I do not think I can resist yoga.
