The Nest at Vivere Alabang

Located at the topmost floor of Vivere Hotel is a restaurant that lets you indulge in a fusion of Asian, European and American flavors. The Nest can actually be super romantic for dates plus an ideal place for casual family dinners, business meetings, and intimate celebrations.

It has two function rooms which can fit up to 50 people, and an al fresco setup (where the 2 bars are situated), which gives a mesmerizing view of the Muntinlupa skyline.

And now for their food offering---

Salads

Crispy Catfish Salad is a delightful green mango salad topped with crispy fried flaked catfish meat, onions, peanuts and cilantro leaves. I'm not really into catfish but I found this dish quite good and savory. The catfish meat isn't overpowering. It mixes well into the salad adding more crunchy texture.

Greek Goddess Salad comes caramelized walnuts, Parmesan cheese on mixed salad greens with Arugula and tossed-in Strawberry vinaigrette. It is served with slices of grilled chicken on top.

Main Dish

We had the Bistecca steak (400-gram Meltique slab of boneless ribeye), Grill Platter, Crispy Pork Binagoongan (Crispy pork with Okra, Tomatoes, Sour Mango and Bagoong), plus Gambas and Chorizo Pasta. Bistecca comes with mashed potatoes and cauliflower side dish. They also serve it with your choice of Creamy mushroom and Peppercorn Demiglace Sauce or Gongonzola Sauce.

Ribeye steak was prepared medium rare, much to my liking. I had Sangria at this point and I found it as a perfect complement to my ribeye fix!

The deconstructed Crispy Pork Binagoongan was my favorite dish that night. Their inhouse spicy-sweet bagoong was a perfect match to Crispy Pork Belly! While the meat appeared crispy on the outside, it was tender and soft inside.

The Grill Platter was a sampler of stuffed squid, pork belly, blue marlin and chicken breast. I ate squid portions of the dish most.

Desserts

Their desserts were good. We were served Salted Caramel Brownie with Bacon Ice Cream (fudge brownies with homemade ice creaam infused with bacon bits), Frozen Brazo (their take on Brazo de Mercedes), and Mango Creme Brulee (flan with mango balls topped with crisp caramelized sugar). This was my favorite among the three. The fudge brownie slice was big enough for sharing. I love how the bacon ice cream further enhances its flavor.

In the Frozen Brazo, mantecado ice cream replaces the custard part. I love this harmonious blend of fluffy meringue, graham crust, mantecado (vanilla butter), and flavored ice cream.
