35 Restaurants participate in the first Australian Grassfed Beef Promotion

Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), Victoria Government, Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), and Qantas Airways has collaborated with top Manila restaurants with a special dining promotion that showcases Australian grass-fed beef.

"The promotion reinforces Australia's position as the best place to raise beef cattle as its climate and environment provides the perfect growing conditions to raise premium beef", according to Mr. Paul Perez, MLA Country Manager.

Score a Healthier You with Grass-Fed Beef

Pastured beef meat from cows that eat only grass and other foraged foods throughout their lives is rated superior over those finished on a concentrated diet mix of corn, soy, grains, antibiotics and supplements for rapid weight gain. Grass-fed beef is naturally leaner than grain-fed beef. It is more nutrient dense and has heart-health benefits that other types of beef don't have.

Grass-fed Beef is a healthy source of many nutrients. Letting cows roam the fields to graze at will makes their meat healthier. Hence, the meat from the pastured cattle is higher in omega-3s, beta-carotene, plus conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and other healthy fats. It is four times higher in vitamin E than the meat from the feedlot cattle. The high vitamin E content in fresh grass accounts for the equally high vitamin E content in the meat of grass-fed cattle.

Furthermore, the reasons to switch go beyond nutrition. By switching to Australian Grassfed Beef, you make a difference in the health and lives of other people, you help sustain the ecosystem and help improve the cattle herds' quality of life.

Australian Grass-fed Beef is a healthy food of the highest order

In Australia, grass-fed beef tends to be the rule rather than the exception. This makes Australian Grass-fed Beef nutritionally superior to feedlot meats. The numerous health benefits it provides makes Australian Grass-fed Beef an important part of a healthy balanced diet.

Grass fat beef is best when the cattle have been on fresh grass rather than hay. There's grass year-round in Australia, making the grasslands plentiful, inexpensive and less costly to the planet. With lots of it for grazing animals, it can certainly make a bunch of cows happy. And what makes herds happy also makes their meat healthier.
