Planet Grapes is a wine store and bar that offers a selection of imported premium wines to go with savory grub.
This place has a wine vending machine that allows guests to to taste premium wines by the glass (half and full) or on a refreshing sip. Their wine dispenser system serves wine perfectly at a perfect temperature. Planet Grapes is suited for those looking for a place with unique food, tasting notes and great company.
Our foodie adventure started as the Chicharon with Tinapa Dip was placed on the table. The lightly seasoned Chicharon goes well with the smoky flavor of its creamy Tinapa Dip. It was a perfect match!
Next came in what they call Red Hot Bopis. I was glad that it was not as spicy as its name implies.
This popular Filipino dish made from sauted pork lungs and heart is best eaten with alcoholic drinks and we were not disappointed.
Paul Mas Sauvignon Blanc 2012 was served to pair with these two appetizers. Food do tastes better with wine! The wine's fresh tropical fruit notes gave enough palate stimulation for more food that would follow.
We had Chicken BBQ and Organic Barbecue Pork Spare Ribs for main dish paired with Folie à Deux Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, a refreshing easy drink at any time. Lightly-marineted hunks of char-grilled chicken meat are tender! Either the Adobo Rice or Mashed Potato makes a wonderful side pairing for this set.
I find that Planet Grapes is particularly strong on meat offerings.
The Organic Barbecue Pork Spare Ribs is something you shouldn't miss out on. The perfectly marinated pork spare ribs was very tasty indeed!
Its sweet glaze further adds tangy richness to every bite.

The food looks good! But the one that really interests me is the wine vending machine. :D
ReplyDeleteI like their vending machine too. It allows you to try out wine options before buying a bottle.
DeleteThat wine vending machine looks interesting! Adding this to my list of restaurants to try.
ReplyDeletethe turon trilogy got my curiosity. and the spare ribs looks so yummy!
ReplyDeleteI had a wine tasting there. I think we had over 15 wines. It really was an experience. We didn't get so much food then but it was definitely more than enough.
