Mati’s Meat and Breads is a new dining destination down south of Manila that overlooks Festival Mall's manmade river park.
Managed by the Melo’s Group of Restaurants, Mati’s offers American comfort food with a Filipino twist. The result is a modernized, casual take on the Melo’s menu.
The Shrimp and Fries (P 190) makes a yummy appetizer. It is best tasting fried shrimp I've ever eaten served with french fries!
The well-seasoned pieces were coated with crispy crumbs to make the tastiest deep-fried shrimps. My kiddo is a bit of a seafood snob and she devoured every last one!
Mati’s delicious baked oysters with burnt butter will blow you away. The freshly-shucked oysters came in perfectly baked its shell and layered with Parmesan cheese and garlic salt. While brown on top, it was neither too dry nor too moist.
The flavors were done right in the Salpicao Rice dish. I can taste the soy sauce and strong garlic in which the cubed beef sirloin was marinated in. It is served with garlicky wagyu rice.
The Steak with Mashed Potato and Vegetables (P 385) is something you wouldn't want to miss. While a bit pricey for the size (140g USDA Steak), the beef was really tender and juicy.
Being a subsidiary of Melo’s, the first restaurant in the country to use Angus beef and one of the most beloved steakhouses in the Philippines, Mati’s Meat and Breads specializes in their steaks. Diners can choose from different cuts of USDA Angus beef that is cooked in a tableside so that customers can judge the temperature and doneness for themselves as the meat cooks in a cast iron skillet.
My daughter loves her super rich, Truffle Pasta (P 398). The linguini pasta was very delicious and the sauce made it great! The thin slivers of truffles, further gave the dish a savoury, pungent aroma. You could definitely taste the truffles in this dish.
Mati’s Meat and Breads is a place to go to for indulgent recipes perfect for a romantic dinner or family get-together. Their steaks, and Italian thin-crust pizzas are sure crowd-pleasers.
