In its continous effort to promote local tourism, the largest land and sea Philippine travel provider, 2GO Travel, relaunched “The Hub“ last January 17th.
Strategically located at Kilometer Zero, the heart of Rizal Park, The Hub was conceptualized with the passengers of 2GO Travel ships in mind. It is a hangout place for everyone. The Hub is a 5in-1 place—lounge, café, bar, restaurant and ticketing office. Passengers can stay and chill at The Hub while waiting for a free shuttle that will transport them to the Negros Navigation, Superferry, Cebu Ferries, and Supercat ship ports. The said facility is a haven for passengers and walk-in tourists. The Hub makes ship passengers’ trip to major tourist destinations easy and comfortable as they relax in an upscale and modern, wine and coffee lounge.
According to vice president and Passage Business Commercial officer of 2GO Travel Stephen Tagud, The Hub plans to include cocktail or beverage packages in its weekend offerings plus a band to entertain customers.
The Hub aims to help promote domestic tourism via sea travel by raising awareness on what food each region offers. It serves regional Filipino cuisine with twists such as the Bacolod Chicken Inasal sandwich.
Stephen Tagud believes a lot of tourist attractions here in the Philippines are “under-promoted” among locals, so 2GO features various destination on the ship, at The Hub or via their magazine. “Though the domestic tourism is growing, it still needs a little bit more push,” Tagud added. “Tourism in itself helps our economy very much. So if Filipinos opt to travel within the Philippines, it would help our whole country in general by creating more jobs…”
The Hub is indeed a lively gathering place where your palate will be challenged with surprisingly food and phenomenal wine. Go visit it soon!

Cool! This looks like an interesting place to visit. Also anything that aims to promote domestic tourism gets a plus in my book. :) There really are so many wonderful places to see all over the Philippines!

ReplyDeleteCool! Honestly, I haven't been to a lot of tourist spots here in Manila, let alone the whole country. If only my husband was the kind who'd want to go on small vacations too.
