Nichols Airport Hotel

It is easier for people to travel these days. Adventures in new places help reduce tension and restore balance in our busy lives. Although travelling brings about a sense of excitement, finding suitable accommodation, and arrangements for transporting luggages (and the entire fsmily) can be such a hassle.

This is specially true on occasions wherein we have to take early flights or on instances wherein flights are delayed and arriving wee hours in our destination is beyond our control. For these reasons, choosing a hotel near the airport is the ideal option for a majority of travellers who put comfort as priority when searching for accommodations.

Preference for hotels in close proximity to the airport, such as Nichols Airport Hotel lets you enjoy your stay without complications.

Since it is near   Ninoy Aquino International Airport,  making early flights becomes less painful.

My family and I had a chance to stay at the Nichols Airport Hotel for winning a contest hosted by Raincheck.

The 8-storey hotel sits besides the Protacio Hospital along Quirino Avenue in Baclaran.  Quirino Avenue runs parallel to Roxas Boulevard and so the hotel expansion at the back looks out to the Hyatt.

The lobby is simple, clean and secured. There is a Coffee Shop located at the back of the front desk. There is strong WiFi connection at communal areas (and in the hotel rooms). Sailfish displays adorned the white walls and hotel walkways.

We stayed in  a Family Room. It was a  big corner room at the 5th floor with a good view of the City of Dreams in the background.

The hotel room door opens to dark mahogany wood panelling on the right that extends out to the  window end of the room. The built-in wooden furniture sets an elegant tone and contains the closets, the personal refrigerator, 40-inch cable LCD TV and working table. The minimalist influences are predominant in its white and black color design schemes.

Our room was way above standard with its good size. The 2 plush queen-sized beds were fitted with soft and clean linen. The split-type aircon unit was fairly new and offers cool comfort all day.

I like that the spacious room was comfortable and quiet. It was conducive for sleeping and great for guests having short transit time in between flights.

There was a generously-sized bathroom with glass panels opposite the closets. There were soft towels available and standard amenities for basic hygiene.

I revelled in quiet respite in the afternoon while the rest of the family tinkered with their cellphones.

We had our dinner at the Roof Deck. The roof garden gives guests a spectacular 360-degree views of the city. If you love observing and photographing aircrafts then you'll realize that it can be a good spot for planespotting.  Planespotting is an entertaining activity there since the Ninoy Aquino International Airport is the busiest airport of the Philippines.

We also got to try out the hotel's massage spa services later in the evening. We opted to have it done in our room. I had a long day and the comfy bed was so inviting. I immediateky fell asleep after a soothing body massage.

Our overnight stay at Nichols Airport Hotel was satisfactory.

Do check  out the hotel when opting to stay near the airport. With less time to get you to your gate, you get to sleep in more.  Refreshed and satiated, you'll be ready for your travel schedule up ahead.
